I was very excited to finally find a practitioner that seemed to value research and science and was an ally to various types of people. However, they won't even see you the first visit. You get pawned off to a third party nurse. So if you don't want your history broadcast around the office, I would choose a different provider. It would be interesting to see what billing codes are even used for this first visit. I do not see how family history, which can be filled out in a form, is a necessity for quality therapy. For an institution that claims to specialize in ptsd and anxiety, this course of business protocol is neither helpful or progressive to a patients well being. I'm highly disappointed, and I didn't even make it to an appointment. I replied to an email about the experience and they neglected to offer any response. There is a severe pain associated by rejection of a therapist; that you're not even worth their time to get to know you. The first visit isn't pleasant for the patient either, but this practice makes it much more stressful and isolating. Emotionally damaging experiences leading to mental illness require qualified professionals, and unfortunately the qualifications of one person do not trickle down to the rest of their employees.
