Reviews
My daughter just turned 28 and is PhD student at U of Cambridge, UK. She has not seen Dr. Freeman for about 10 years, so this is a very late review, but currently doing so because: (1) we need his advice on a procedure to be done either in Cambridge or London, and (2) I was hard-pressed to believe the negative reviews relative to such a high quality dentist and his personable assistant. They were simply the absolute best; yet, I have a tendency to be critical and difficult vis-a-vis, say, physicians, attorneys, politicians, bureaucrats, and professors. Over several years, I did not detect any flaws, only his well-thought out advice and performed techniques, period. Dr Freeman is amazing pediatric dentist! My now 9 year old had awful fear of dentists ever since she was 2 and they had to pull out front cavities out. Finally, our family dr recommended Dr Freeman and now we have full mouth of healthy growing teeth and she goes to every appointment with spring in her step. Her words: If it wasnt for Dr Freeman, I would never like dentists! Thank you from bottom of this mom's heart :)
This was an appt for my four year old son. When the Dr initially told me he wanted to try and create an air of independence and liked to try and do appts without parents in the room, I thought it odd but allowed it at first for the initial consultation. When we returned for the full cleaning and sealants my son did not want to go in alone. The Dr’s assistant told us to wait until she consulted the Dr. The Dr brought us back and explained the basics of the procedure and I asked my son if he was okay with me staying in the waiting room per the Dr’s request. I felt like the procedure would never happen if I did not leave. My son agreed and I sat in the waiting area. After everything was done the Assistant brought me back into the exam area. The Dr was very cordial and explained what he had done. He failed to mention that he used nitrous oxide on my son. He had indicated it was a possibility before he began but I figured he would have checked before actually administering. I did not know of the use of the nitrous until I received a hefty bill in the mail. Apparently my insurance does not cover nitrous or white sealants, neither of which was discussed before the procedures began. Now I have been waiting for two weeks for the Dr to call me back. Don’t even get me started on how his Office Manager/Receptionist went from being the loveliest woman in person to someone hanging up on me twice when I called to discuss the bill and enquire about the Dr not calling me back after two weeks from my initial call about the bill.
I had a very uncomfortable experience with Scott Freeman. The hygienist was insistent that my son (who’s 6!) go back for treatment alone. My son & I were not comfortable with that, so I insisted to be with him & she said “I will need to go ask the dentist if that’s ok”. We went back to meet with the dentist and he wouldn’t do any treatment with me there and said to make another appointment and my son would have to go back alone. Please note that during the treatment my son would be getting laughing gas and he didn’t want me to be there?!? He was very pushy with my son and it made all of us feel very uncomfortable. We went to another children’s dentist and had a much better experience! Please don’t bother going to this dentist office!
I came in with my 4 children. I was told because I was early, they couldn't finish up there office work. I was never told I couldn't be early. The receptionist was horrible. She laughed in my face. She told me I wasn't welcome there and so we left. She changed her story and statements to me several times regarding why my children could not be seen. I never knew being early could cause someone to be so horrible. Do not take your children here, not kid friendly at all.
