As a history buff, I love this place. The ruins of a canal lock are in decent condition, only the actual lock gates are long gone. There are remains of an Iron kiln as well as the foundation of a saw mill, all dating back to the beginning of the 19th Century. Best of all, there are a few trails and a couple lead down to the Susquehanna river, making my dogs very happy.
Very nice area, shaded parking, picnic tables bathrooms. Historic kilns, short walk to lock and the river as well as a small waterfall. Lots of family fun easy trail to dam and back 2.5 miles some on the road in sun.
Good, but no bathrooms. It's a biological disaster area in the woods near by.
Interesting place to see how the locks used to work & a good hiking spot.
Went cliff jumping at a place not to far from here, hike was kinda long if you were unprepared. There were also a lot of people there that were drinking and such but if you were a stronger swimmer there was another area you could get to that wasn't really busy but was excellent for jumping and had a great view.
