Exemplifies the definition of a bad salesmanship - dishonest and no conscience.nWould recommend a criminal background check.nI trusted him with an heirloom diamond and was returned glass. Unfortunately, by the time it was discovered it was past the statue of limitations.nI am also aware of a criminal charge in the mid 80’s when he worked in financial planning in Hagerstown, MD and was charged with theft of people’s investments.

This is a great jewelry shop for big or small jobs!! I got links taken out of my watch for ten dollars then came back and got my engagement ring hand crafted by John using my grandmothers engagement ring. He worked with me and helped me every step along the way and I honestly couldn't recommend this shop enough!

This man took my mother's engagement ring, took the real diamond out and replaced with a fake diamond! Do not trust him!

BEWARE! This man is a thief. You others who have praised him are blind. We took a antique ring to him to be appraised (for insurance purposes), and left it a few days. When we picked it up, he provided us with the appraisal which stated it's worth and the excellence of it's color and clarity. The appraisal matched older, previous appraisals done on the same ring. Since we needed 2 appraisals, we then took the ring (same day) to another local jeweler. Upon seeing the ring, she took an eye loop and we discovered the original, near flawless diamond, had been switched with a cubic zirconia. We then proceeded to yet a third jeweler to verify, which they did. A police report was filed with the Shippensburg Police Dept. and we were told it was not the first, yet he is still in business. I cannot imagine the number of people he has done this to. PLEASE have your items that you have bought here or have had worked on inspected by another jeweler and let's put this sorry excuse behind bars where he belongs!!n*** Please take notice that 1 of these 5 star reviews is from the owner/thief himself! John Coppens!!! In addition, I have never met this man prior to our business dealings.
