Even before I became pregnant I knew I wanted Vivianne to help us have an amazing homebirth. We worked together as doulas in our community and everyone (doctors, nurses and other care-providers) had such respect and awe for her ability to empower families with her knowledge and support.nnMy husband met her and had many questions about home birth and birth in general, and immediately he was at ease and enthusiastic about being at home for the birth of our daughter. When the time came, we had fun and worked hard. Friends and doulas came to support us, we ate great food, laughed, and found quiet time as well. Vivianne held space for the joy and the challenge of giving birth, and even when things were very difficult, uncomfortable, and we were minutes away from going to the hospital, I knew I could do it because Vivianne was calmly sitting in front of me like the eye of a storm. Her ability to stay grounded, and to support the process of normal (miraculous) birth is incredible.nThe moments after my daughter was born were so precious, we were all cared for with such love and humor.nnMidwifery is Vivianne's calling, she loves what she does, and she does it with tremendous love.

When I chose ViviAnne in the beginning of my pregnancy, I knew nothing about her or any other midwives in the area. All I knew was that I wanted to be able to make my own choices through pregnancy, and to have a peaceful, quiet homebirth. I knew I wanted to be able to give birth in a tub, and I wanted the option of moving as much as I wanted, eating if I desired, ect. And I feel so blessed to have had the beautiful home water birth that I wanted! Thankfully everything went so smoothly, even delivering a 9 lb 5oz posterior, asynclitic baby girl! It was the most amazing experience of my life and I'm so glad I had ViviAnne there as my midwife. She is very knowledgeable and I so appreciated how she always let me to make my own decisions concerning pregnancy and birth, and made sure I had all the information I needed to make a well - informed decision. I never felt pressured by her.nIf I'm blessed to have another baby in the future I will absolutely choose ViviAnne again!

I met ViviAnne in our academic lives and knew she would be our midwife when I became pregnant. About a year and a half later, I was pregnant and ViviAnne had finished her training. ViviAnne is truly the embodiment of a holistic practitioner. I felt comfortable with her from the beginning, and even in the first few weeks of pregnancy I felt supported physically and emotionally. In fact, I was even able to reach out to ViviAnne with questions before I became pregnant! Throughout my pregnancy and beyond, ViviAnne provided kind, compassionate, attentive and non-intrusive care. She truly cared about me and my own unique concerns. I felt seen and heard by ViviAnne. She is sensitive to and aware of trauma issues and how they impact a woman during pregnancy, birth and after.nShe also referred me to a wonderful birthing class + doula.nAt 37 weeks I had to transfer providers for medical reasons. As scary and discombobulating as this was, ViviAnne was very sincere and compassionate when giving us the news. She found us an amazing midwife to transfer to and explained everything to her. The transition of care was so seemless, I truly felt cared for the whole time despite the disruption. I never felt like ViviAnne stopped being my midwife as she continued to talk with me about induction decisions as I went past my due date and provided emotional support and feedback through the tumultuous post partum days. You could not ask for a midwife who cares more. It is clear that this is ViviAnne's passion. I am sad that I have moved away and will not be able to have her as my midwife again.
