A parking area for the White Clay Creek Preserve in Pennsylvania. Numerous trails can be accessed from this parking area. The main one, the Penndel Trail, follows the White Clay Creek from the White Clay Creek Preserve lot 1 southward into Delaware towards Newark, DE for a total of 5 miles one way. There are many other trails in the area, mostly for hiking, with access to biking and horseback riding on a few of them. Terrain on the trails goes from manly flat (x-railroad grade) to challenging.nA decent but limited amount of free parking in PA., but there is a fee if you decide to park in Delaware, which is even more limited.nNote: the Penndel trail also follows the Mason Dixon trail along the way. There are mile markers in PA. Directional posts and display structures with info and maps are along the main trail.l
Great year around!
What's not to like about White Clay Creek? Lot #2 is conveniently located right by the creek, and the trail that follows the meandering creek through the woods. A beautiful place to fish, hike, or just have lunch!
There are old remains from bridges that used to cross the white clay Creek. Now only foundations like these can be found all along the creek. These two are within one mile of parking lot #2. It was also a beautiful February day!
