The library itself is very nice but some staff can be very dismissive and condescending. I went to get a library card and the librarian was mean, grumpy and agresive in her tone when I asked basic questions on how to get one. They should really evaluate their staff. It is such a nice spot in Malvern and as a local in the borough I don’t want other visitors experience to be tainted but some unwelcoming staff.
Very nice library, but I’ve had a number of experiences here where the librarians seem annoyed and put out by basic questions. Once I asked about how much it cost to take out a movie and was snickered at. Recently when my child approached the counter to take out a book the librarian checking him out was condescending to him and clearly irritated. After checking a book out, we went back to get another and she acted like it was a big inconvenience. Librarians should be warm and encouraging to children, as we want them to keep coming back to the library and reading more.
This Library saved me from an hour long driving trip! We were on our way to Philadelphia and forgot our concert tickets at home. I didn't have an account with this Library but they gave me a guest pass to print my concert tickets using their printer and computers. The staff was very helpful and pleasant! Thank you Malvern Public Library!
The library has a fine children's collection, wonderful programs for children and a great room for children to explore and play. My kids loving visiting.
Small, but good local library. Quiet and easy to get work done there.
