A Notary

There are numerous bad reviews. Understandable. State bureaucracy puts everyone, even agents, in a bad mood. However, I found Debra very helpful and knowledgable. There was a problem with check approval which she worked long and hard to resolve, even coming up with several options with other players, all to help me get my plate. Therefore, I have to counter the bad reviews with what I consider to be an honest, fair one of my own. If I had to do her job, I'd last no more than a week. Not only is she good at her work, but she's a survivor and you can't say that about so many other people.

I am new to PA and needed to change over my car registration and get new plates. The woman there called me when my papers came in from the car dealer as my car is leased so I do not own the title/etc. She was very friendly and walked me through all the things I needed to do, and even wished me safe travels home as I was out of town at the time. Once I got back into town and went in, she would not accept my insurance card as my name wasn't on it even though on the Penn DOT website it says the applicant's name does NOT have to be on the card, they just have to be insured on the policy (which I was). I went all the way home, called the insurance company, fixed everything, and came all the way back. Only to discover that this was a cash only establishment, which I did not know and was not informed of. I went home (again) and got a few hundred dollar bills in cash, as this turned out to be an expensive transaction, and when I finally returned the third time the woman working informed me she thought my $100 bill was fake and she could not accept it. I showed her the seal in it, knowing it was real as I acquired it from a trusted source, but she still would not accept it. Immediately after that a cashier at the store ran her counterfeit pen on it and it was real, as I knew the entire time. Good thing I had the foresight after this disastrous day to also grab my checkbook at home in order to have extra payment so I would not have to return home and back for a fourth time, so I was able to complete my transaction. This is why I gave 2 stars..eventually my transaction was completed, but the hassle of spending 3 hours doing something that overall took 10 minutes and the bad attitude of the employee has discouraged me from ever returning to this notary location again.

Unless you show up 2-3 hours before they close don’t waste your time or money here. The blonde lady that works there is incredibly rude, nasty, unprofessional, and severely lacks any sort of customer service skills. We showed up about a hour before closing and was merely greeted with a “I’M NOT TAKING ANY MORE CUSTOMERS TODAY!!” Ok, I’ll take my money elsewhere since you don’t want additional business for an extra 10 minutes of work.

Extremely rude. There's plenty of other Notaries around. Pick another one.

I am a North Carolina title clerk, & was in need of registering a Butler Co resident. Debra went above and beyond to answer my questions (the process is quite different from NC!) and exhibited exceptional customer service for both myself, and my customer. She completed my transaction the same day my paperwork was delivered! I am looking forward to using A Notary's services in the future!nThanks again!!!
