Interesting center with specimen of insects, birds, and animals around the area. There is a vernal pond next to it which fills up with water around early spring. There were scores of wood frogs in it laying eggs. They are loud and sound like Canada Geese. Once the eggs are laid, these frogs will leave the pond and scatter miles away into the woods.nnSince the Vernal pond does not have any fish, the eggs remain safe through hatching.

This is a great place to take the kids on the weekend and teach them about the local history of the area. This center focuses on the ecological history and about the the local environment works. They hold some lessons out here every once and again worth catching. They also have an astronomy club meet near by every once and again.

A nice change of pace along the way of wherever you are going on I-95.
