I moved away from AZ 4 years ago and I miss Mexican food. This visit to On The Border was on point! The chips were warm and I downloaded a coupon for free queso dip, which was delicious!nMy carnitas chimi was amazing and they made no fuss about my request to have it served Mexican flag style! That means it had red sauce, green sauce and sour cream sauce! I was delighted!nSuper friendly staff! More than reasonable prices! Two thumbs up!
The only reason why I am giving this place 3 stars is because I have been going here for a long time now. I will never turn down to go here. But over the years it has been declining rapidly. The wait time has extended (which I want to blame covid but it's even the time waiting for the food to cook), the food is not as good, and the service in general has become abysmal. I would honestly recommend any other Mexican style restaurant before On The Border.

Every time we go there there is a huge wait. Last time, we were in a line of about 30 people and we had ordered ahead.nWe decided not to wait!nThis time we went early and they said the wait was 45 minutes and we had to wait outside.nI have a gift card and I have been trying to use it since May.nWe were told that they didn't have enough servers and that the backup was huge for takeout.nThis is so frustrating as we live an hour away.
Drink and food was awesome. They have taken all precautions during the pandemic. Will return again.
