Nice selection of film, cameras and photo supplies. Street parking was easy, and the staff was helpful and great to talk with. They showed me a few interesting photo papers that can really add a lot to my prints, and we exchanged ideas about film vs digital. It was worth the trip into the city
Really disappointed with copies of old photos & the cost was very high.

This is exactly the kind of local business that we need to support in the age of online retail. I bought two cameras that I probably could have found on Ebay, but I learned SO much more from handling them in person and speaking with folks who have extensive experience operating them. The staff members are super knowledgeable and helpful and aren't pushy. They have a great variety of film cameras and film (I wasn't looking for digital things so I can't speak for the digital selection). I really appreciate it when employees at shops like this are willing to take the time to share their knowledge with novices like me. I spoke at length with two dudes (one of which was named Joe, I didn't get the other guy's name) and they were more than willing to entertain my curiosities. Joe even took the time to show me examples of photos taken with the different types of films I was choosing between. I learned a ton from my three visits. Long live the quirky camera shop!
I recently purchased an old leica from Bernie's and found out shortly after that it was malfunctioning. They told me to bring in the negatives and sent the camera to their repairman day of. Within two weeks it was returned working perfectly. They covered 100% of the cost under a warranty on the used item even though they didn't have to. Kind service and the cheapest film in Pittsburgh!
