Grateful Day Farm (04/10/2019)
This school is TERRIBLE. They discriminate against people with special needs, especially people with autism. In all my years dealing with private and public schools for my kids I have NEVER been discriminated against like this. The rude principal at this school would not even consider my family for enrollment simply because my son has high functioning autism. They said they cannot guarantee he won’t disrupt the “educational process” for the other kids. We are moving from Nashville TN and I called to get info about the school. The principal was nice and very interested in my two sons enrollment until I asked if they had ever had any children there with high functioning autism. She then changed her tone and said we were not allowed to enroll simply because of my son’s autism. That was the only reason. She didn’t want to meet us or my boy, she just rejected us outright simply because he has high functioning autism. She stated they cannot provide extra services and I clearly stated my son is just quirky and doesn’t need any extra services. She said she didn’t know even what high functioning autism means. It’s ridiculous that a principal anywhere would say that these days with the autism rates so high. Also I’m surprised they call themselves a Christian School at all. I would highly question a Christian School who wont at least meet a child who is different to see if they fit in.

A home away from home. I've been here for 18 years, and the peolple are always so loving and understanding! Wouldn't settle anywhere else, this is my family.

Very welcoming and enjoyable service. Friendly pastoral staff. Great place to meet new people and worship God.

The lady and her daughter in my story are from your church. I would love for her to find this to give them thankful wishes.nToday was an amazing day. It did not start that way, as it was day 4 of our missing pup. We got up got all of our stuff together and started out the door. We had flyers and tape in hand and determination in our hearts.nWe started in Rainier, Wa at Rainier Espresso those gals were so nice. (we will be stopping in for coffee soon) Then over to the gas station where I met this bunch of old timers hanging out telling stories.(all that was missing was the potbelly stove and the corn pipes)nThen we headed over to the gas station out by Lawrence Lake. That is where the faith came in. I met this quirky guy from Australia. As I moved on to the next guy that had gathered, I realized it was one of the cool kids from my high school years.(That moment you realize your the same, the hug). Then as we turned to go to the car a lady and her daughter came up to us. She asked if she could take a flyer to the church that they were on their way too, we of course said yes. Then it happened she asked if she could pray for us. So in the middle of the station we circled the five of us(Kurtis was hold Katy) and she prayed for god to bring Cooper home. We Thanked her and moved to a few more places on the way into town.nI had a plan of the most important places to go in Yelm. The number one for the volume of people has to be Stewart's Meats. They let us put up three flyers and were so willing to help. it was amazing. (I have always recommend them for their meats now it will be for their hearts). Then it happened again when we stopped at Jenny's Barnhouse in McKenna. She not only posted the flyer, she grabbed her phone and started posting his pic on her Facebook pages immediately.( Unbelievable Heart). Then Boom she called me tonight to see if we had found him. (Kurtis had called her restaurant to have them pull the flyer but she was gone by then.) HEART--We will be dinning there in the near future.nThen a few more stops and we were at Pet House Groomer where we met this very nice young lady that was so offering and wanting to help us. she was planing an attack in her area with flyers. If I need a groomer we will make that drive to get it done.nThen into town and we stopped at the three vet offices and they were all very nice. We ended dropping off flyers, and headed to oly to the humane society. We posted there and we were done. Kurtis took me to work and as I was getting settled in I got this text. It was from my Aunt Mary ( who has been the biggest help to me threw all of these four days) saying her neighbor had seen Cooper, I had to read it three or four times, then I handed my phone to Kurtis to read it. Lets just say it only took him 20 minutes to get to her house (I work in Centraila and she lives in SE Yelm)40 minutes later I got a call that he was on his way to me with Cooper.nThis day has been the most emotional, spiritual, heart felt day we have ever had. WE ARE BLESSED!!!
