We stopped by Macy's in search of a reclining couch for our living room. We were quickly approached by a saleswoman, Marla. She told us the couch we were interested in was a floor model and was marked at half the retail price. Upon closer inspection of the sales ticket, we noticed that a fault was marked on the tag. We didn't understand exactly what was wrong based on what was written and Marla said she wasn't sure either. She hadn't noticed any problems with the couch, it was in great working condition. Another saleswoman happened to be walking by and explained that the motor in one headrest sometimes didn't work. Marla dismissed the other woman and absolutely insisted over and over that there was not one thing wrong with the couch. My husband and I felt very pressured and definitely didn't feel we were being treated 100% honestly. If full disclosure about the flaws of the couch were presented at the outset we may have chosen to take our chances. We passed on the couch and purchased a full priced one at a local competitor.
