Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh - Beechview

In my opinion, the Beechview Library is the best library in the city of Pittsburgh! I have visited most libraries in Pittsburgh, and this location is by far my favorite. The staff goes above and beyond for their patrons, and the library is remarkable.nnI can tell that the library staff genuinely care about the people in the community. Their programs are top notch. My daughter attended ProjectArt and had such a great time. The kid's created textile art that was displayed around the library. They even yarn bombed the outside of the library--it was gorgeous and colorful! The art instructors placed lots of emphasis on sewing and textile arts. My daughter still has an interest in sewing. She always asks me to give her a thread and needle, and she sews fabric to her stuffed animals. She also had the opportunity to interact with other children in the community.nnThe one thing I found ultra impressive was the fact that the Beechview library is an oasis for the children of Beechview. Many of the kids would gather there once school let out. This is a safe and enriching place for kids/teens. The children's head librarian is the most caring individual I've ever met. I could tell that she's really devoted to her role.nnThere's plenty of comfortable places to sit and read, and I love the way it was renovated. It has an airy, open feel with lots of sun shining through the large windows. The children's area is simply the best. They have every toy imaginable. Kids can go there, make new friends, and use their imaginations.

They're open, you can call ahead to reserve items and pick them up. They also currently offer bagged items, books and movies for checkout, visitation is currently very limited, but they're serving the community as best they can while keeping people safe. Glad they're open again!

I’ve been tutoring a student at the CLP Beechview. I am so impressed by the evolution of the library. It is inviting to all! Kids and adults of all ages. All are accommodated and welcome. The is one of warmth and fun. The staff is amazing, friendly and helpful. There are areas specialized to suit each group and programs as we.
