10/10 experience with Himalaya Journey!nnHighly recommend Himalaya Journey whether traveling solo, with a family, or group. I organized a three week group trip from the US to Nepal with Himalaya Journey and will absolutely utilize their services again. Ashok was always quick to respond to questions during planning phase, effortlessly made adjustments to our itinerary based on our goals/needs, and organized a seamless and stress free trip! Highly recommend Himalaya Journey and will definitely utilize their services when I organize my next group trip.

Simply put, Himalaya Journey made our trip to Nepal. Ashok and Raj were both extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the entire region. It's because of them I'm recommending Himalaya Journey to friends back home. They have such pride in their work and their country. 10/10 would do it again!!

I absolutely loved this tour and Himalaya Journey. They definitely know what they're doing. Not only did we get to see things that aren't available on most other tours, it was two days longer than most tours. On top of that, they do the tour from Lhasa to Kathmandu, rather than the other way around. This is very important, because coming from Kathmandu, you go from 1,300 meters elevation to the 5,050 high Everest Base Camp in one or two days. This is NOT enough time to acclimate to such high altitudes. Doing the journey from Lhasa provides a gradual climb, with time for the body to adjust. In addition, this is a small group tour (just eight people on ours), so there is a high level of personal and individual interaction. Highly, highly recommended for anyone who has ever dreamed of going to Tibet.

I just returned to the US from my tour across Tibet and the Himalayas with a small group of seven other travelers and could not be happier with the experience. The tour went smoothly with a couple of small issues not the fault of Himalaya Journey but they were resolved expeditiously. That is why you want a professional tour company especially in a remote country like Tibet.nI found this company after reading comments from other travelers and professionals that the Himalaya Journey website was a good place to get factual information about trekking or touring in Tibet and Nepal. One of the primary concerns of mine was altitude sickness. Unless you are used to living above 10K ft. It is or should be a real concern. Some of the shorter tours did not seem to afford enough time for acclimation to the high altitude which is why I and several of the others in our group picked this company. The fact is all of us had some symptoms of altitude sickness the first day in Lhasa from headaches to light headedness to nausea all of had something, but after a couple of days most of us were feeling ok. The way the tour was designed there was plenty of time to adjust making the experience far more pleasurable for all.nThe bottom line is this is a professionally operated tour company with local guides and managers that genuinely want their clients to have the best experience possible. That means they will tell you if are not physically fit enough to join a tour. The tour by vehicle which I took was not as demanding as a trekking tour which they also do, but there was a lot of walking and every place we visited had stairs, frequently many stairs, which at high altitude can be challenging for those who have not been physically active.nProfessional, knowledgeable, honest, and extremely easy to talk with about any question or issue you may have, I highly recommend Himalaya Journey for that once in a lifetime trip to Everest.
