Lovely Catholic Church!nLots of space for a wedding.

I have lived all over the country and attended many different Roman Catholic Churches. This one really falls short in a number of places in the perspective of a young person. I did not see it really mentioned in the other reviews, but it is now apart of the St. Catherine of Siena and St. Margret Mary grouping. That in and of itself isn't a bad thing, but the three different buildings that really function more as three separate parishes. They also are catering to the much older demographic. I would love to be able to attend daily mass, but it is only offered at 8am at St. Joseph's, and 8:30am at the other places. I would prefer a much earlier morning daily mass. They do offer one on Wednesday evenings at 7pm. I think that time is great for the average working crowd, but just doesn't always work for me (can't fault them there). On the weekends, I would also appreciate a late mass 7 or 8pm. That would be ideal on Sunday night, but Saturday would work too. Another issue I have is the music ministry. I was a Cantor for their 5:30pm Saturday mass, and that was one of the most stressful things I have ever done! It was completely disorganized and the music wasn't at all fun to sing! I'm not advocating changing everything, but maybe setting up a time to practice with people, working with your cantors on the music they know, and maybe livening it up a bit. I don't like all the new wave music, but some is nice, and many traditional hymns played at a reasonable tempo (speed) that's not a slow dirge, are beautiful as well. Now don't get me wrong, the people there are generally pretty friendly as are the priests. And mass is mass we are all there for the same reason, to receive the body and blood of Christ! I just wish that many of the aspects of the parish would change to strengthen one's spiritual life better, as of now I don't feel that it does, at least not for a young person.

The music is frankly awful and some parishioners aren't the nicest, but the Priests are really nice!

Also went to school there. Thanks for all the memories.
