This country church used to have the best Summer Picnic around and was opened to anyone. I don't remember what time of day it used to start but I know it went on after dark. They had the strings of light bulbs strung from one tree to another to the big 4 sided stand where everything was sold. Brass bands played, prizes, afgans, 5 different flavors of soda in glass bottles, ice cream, watermelon, cakes, pies and cupcakes for sale. But the best of all, homemade Chicken Sandwiches which brings people back year after year. Slowly many of these things started to die off along with the ambitious older folks. Now these days you can get a boiled hot dog, sloppy joe sandwich or a cup of soup. The biggest attraction seems to be gone now - the awesome chicken sandwiches. Last year they ran out very early and 2017 there were none made at all. It's an end of a era folks. Those good old days are gone for now I suppose. I won't say forever because things could still be fixed.
