Olympia Fire Department Station 1

Good news in what is often a bad news day these days. Yesterday I, and another good Samaritan, tried to guide a mother and her 8 ducklings off the on ramp at Pacific and I-5 . Mom and 2 got to safety but 6 fell down a sewer grate. We were able to pull off the grate and pull out 2 before 4 fell down the drain pipe. There was no way to get them at the time. I called Wildlife rescue but no luck. This am I called the fire department and to my surprise they sent out a ladder truck. We couldn't locate the 4 ducklings but a sincere effort was made. Thanks team!
