I went to AWE to have some work done on my early 2000's Jaguar, and they gave a very thorough diagnosis on what specifically had to be done. The turn out was quick, and they did great work! They gave me a good deal on it too. I recommend anyone with a European car in need of service in the Lafayette area to get your work done at AWE. Thanks, guys!

I took my 2008 Cayenne a week or so after purchase for a full workup - prompted in part by a need to diagnose a CEL. In CO, that automatically results in failing emissions testing. And I wanted to verify that my car was in good condition They went through the car and gave me a list of potential issues. The CEL was diagnosed as bad O2 sensors.nnI went ahead with an O2 sensor replacement (~$1k) and got the car back with the CEL off. I then drove it in such a way to get the OBD monitors to activate and the CEL came back. Their next guess was a bad MAF. They wouldn't refund the price paid (after all, I did get new O2 sensors and my old ones were already thrown out) but they did testing to see if it was the MAF. It wasn't.nnI'm giving three stars because:n1) They didn't drive the car themselves to simulate the drive cycle for the OBD monitors. While there is one monitor that essentially requires an overnight wait, the rest can be tripped with just a 15 minute drive. Aside from having done this on other vehicles to test emissions related changes, I also conducted this on the Cayenne itself when I got it back to check their work.n2) While I understand they incurred cost for the new O2 sensors and time spend replacing my old ones, this work wasn't carried out because I wanted O2 sensors - it was to solve a problem which didn't get solved. One would expect them to offer some discount on future work to make up for this. Perhaps $1k isn't much to their typical customer but it makes a difference to me to spend that much and not see a result.nnI realize there's a fine line here. If I'd self diagnosed the problem as bad O2 sensors and just showed up asking them to install new ones, I'd feel differently about (2). But because I took this action on their recommendation, it rankles a bit. That said, I'd likely use them again (and perhaps will up my rating in the future). They have a reputation for carrying out good work and I certainly have some work that needs to be done for which no diagnosis is required.

Car is still at this place for what had now been weeks and should have been days (at most). I will share details and finalize this review when our experience is done...
