Active Design & Build

We recently completed a full remodel of our unfinished basement along with several renovation projects around the house with Active Design and we must say we are extremely satisfied with the results.  The process from the first design meeting to completion was excellent and quality work.  The design team and project managers came up with creative ideas to fit in everything on our wish list keeping in mind our budget.  Everyone working on the remodel and with the company was extremely professional, arriving on time and always cleaned up at the end of every day. Any problems or concerns were addressed in a timely manner and were followed through until resolved.nWe are very happy with the final completion and have received a ton of compliments from our neighbors and family from our basement to our custom built-ins and entire interior paint job.

After interviewing a couple of companies, we decided to hire ADB because of their process, design, proposal, timeline, and general knowledge of projects like ours. Remodeling a house can be confusing and if your contractor is unorganized it can be a nightmare. We were happy with our decision. A couple of issues came up, but ADB handled it professionally & in a timely manner. Most importantly, we came in on budget. Thank you!

We had a wonderful experience with the team at Active Design & Build. They performed an extensive renovation of our 6 bed, 4 bath home in Denver that has original 1920's construction.nGoing into the project we knew we had a reasonable budget to address many of the core issues. However, we were also prepared to face the reality that some items would need to remain out of scope and be addressed in the coming years as our finances permitted. Fortunately, the ADB team took great care in creating a project design that balanced our needs, wants, and budget to make our vision for our home a reality.nThe build process was seamless. ADB handled all aspects of the design, permitting, building approvals, on-site deliveries, and build out. All we had to do was check on progress and selections in the client portal. That’s another thing we really liked about the company, they embrace technology and have a client portal that allows you to review invoices, make payments, approve changes, and our favorite feature: review photos of the project as it progresses. They continue to impress even after our project ended, as we had additional small things that we wanted to have done and ADB came back several months later at no cost! We are incredibly happy with the final product and can’t thank the entire team enough for making the renovation such a pleasant experience and leaving us with our beautiful home we have dreamed about for years. How would you rate your personal skills as a project manager? If you sign with ADB, prepare to pay a premium for their services and spend most of your time managing subcontractors, organizing the work, and doing the quality control. Oh, after about 6 months or so they'll get around to sending someone to your house to do the work, and may be able finish in 11 months. But the people they send will not read the plans, will show up when you least expect it, ask you to explain the work to them, and then do it wrong. Multiple times. Expect plenty of disruption, confusion, and no project management help from ADB. They are experts at taking your money - they will clean out your life-savings and charge you triple the amount you would expect to pay, but project management, coordination, and quality control - they'll leave that to you.
