Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Plus they're taking COVID very seriously and the rides out to the Channel Islands are very safe. Masks are required and enforced and the boats are only being sold at 50% capacity. If they spot wildlife on the ride (like the 1000+ pod of dolphins we saw!) they'll slow the boat down so you can enjoy the view!

Overall great experience!nI went to Santa Cruz Island, it was an hour and half boat ride each way. We spotted Blue Whales (yes we got lucky), dolphins, and the less exciting view - oil rigs.nnStaff were very courteous and understanding through the whole trip. My favorite part of the boat ride was our boat driver who kept us engaged through the whole ride! I enjoyed every minute, the learning, and the overall experience.nMake certain there is not even drinking water on the island, pack right - food, drinks, etc.nnThe boat has some beverage and snack options.nIf you're considering an island trip, I would certainly recommend island packers cruises.

Where do I even begin? This was by far the most amazing experience. The boat was extremely clean, everyone was spaced out, and everyone wore masks. The crew was polite, professional, and had the best sense of humor! We saw a humpback whale, a blue whale and her calf, sea lions, and tons of dolphins! We even stopped to pick up a balloon that was floating in the water. We camped at Santa Rosa for a few days (life changing) and then our ride back was just as incredible. Our captain gave us so much info on the islands as we passed them and even managed to fit our big boat in the painted cave! You can tell that everyone genuinely cares about mother nature and is very educated on all of the wildlife and history regarding the islands and surrounding waters! If I could rate this company more than 5 stars, I would. They went above and beyond and I feel so grateful to have been able to experience such wonder!

The captain of the boat in each direction was great! Very knowledgeable about the marine wildlife, and would rotate the boat to give every passenger a view. They also have very respectful rules to protect everyone in the midst of the pandemic. They are limiting capacity due to the pandemic, so it actually felt like a more exclusive experience! We are definitely recommending Island Packers to anyone who wants to have a remote adventure, and we hope to book another trip next time we are in town!
