Staff are very helpful and knowledgable and the store carries a large selection of flooring. Prices are competitive.

In our search for new carpets we read the couple of negative reviews here however we were referred by several friends so we moved forward. I can say it was a very positive experience.nnW live about an hour from the store in the mountains. We were greeted with a friendly and courteous staff. We explained our situation and needs. There was no high pressure sales at all. We picked out our carpet. A couple days later the estimator came by took measurements and gave us our quote and answered any questions we had. It was a week from the time we picked out our capet to installation. The install crew was very courteous and friendly. Did a great job. 6 hours from the time they arrived to the time they left. They went a little above and beyond as far as moving furniture and things as I had been suffering from a back injury so was very limited in what I could do and prepare. That was a nice touch of customer care.nnWe ran into a couple issues which Thompson's solved quickly with no hesitation. Being we live so far from the store I figured we'd get hit with extra install fees due to distance and travel time. We were not. Being so far away our deposit was taken over the phone and final payment was made a few days after install since it was the day before a holiday weekend which saved us a tremendous amount of time. Very pleased with the whole process and transaction. Our cost was well within range of other vendors and acceptable. Couldn't have asked for anything more during the whole process. We're happy with our choice and would recommend Thompson's to anyone for their flooring needs.

Good help and nice people, fair selection

The owners son said he did not want my business and asked me to leave!nnI checked my records and I show that over the last 36 years of doing business with them I have gave them in excess of $262,000.00 in business installing carpets in all of our homes the we have built, bought, sold or rented out.nnMy wife went into the store and asked to order a special carpet out of a magazine for home theaters. The owner said she could not get that specialized carpet and told my wife she had to order through the company in the magazine. Several months later I went into the store to buy the pad and labor to install the carpet/pad. The owners son (A 50 year old man) went crazy because I was only buying the pad and labor from him and not the carpet. I told him that his Mom said we could only get it through the advertised company in the magazine so I could not buy the carpet from them. He said he did not want my business and asked me to leave.nnI drove over to another Carpet store on Main street, They were so nice and helpful, the store was very clean with all displays set up nice. They had my carpet installed the next day.

They ask how to describe my experience with Thompsons Floor Covering. Where do I start. I asked for a quote for carpeting for my home, they promptly came to my home and measured everything. I set clear expectations for what I was interested in, and what I wanted. The owner stated that when I visited their showroom everything would be ready for me to view and quotes would be ready. Not the case. I walked in and it was as if the woman in the store had not had any info. I had to waste time, waiting on quotes (which were overpriced), and hear about things I didn't want. The woman was pushy and didn't care what I was interested in. Needless to say we left, and they didn't even bother to call to follow up.nnFast forward 8 months, a rental we have needs new flooring. The tenant goes out to get quotes, one from Thompsons. The owner calls me accidentally and then hangs up on me. I call back, mention my previous issues with the place, and say I hope that he and my tenant can work something out. The owner then calls my tenant to say he doesn't want to bother with our business and that we should go elsewhere. LOL..... I guess business must be good. What a joke of a place. Don't go here, unless you're looking for the run around and overpriced flooring.
