MedVet Silicon Valley

If I could give negative stars to MedVet Silicon Valley, I would. Our dog, Max, had a heart condition which unfortunately took a sudden turn for the worst. We took Max to MedVet as our primary vet didn’t have appointments available. The Vet was explaining the treatment options to my wife and I over the phone, and we tentatively decided to try to make Max as comfortable as possible and take him home. We asked the Vet to let us call him back with a final decision so that we could consult with Max’s primary vet. He then proceeded to lecture us about how much Max would be suffering, something we were acutely aware of and how horrible and cruel of a decision we were making. He then abruptly hung up on us. He wouldn’t even get back on the phone after we made our final decision. Zero compassion at all. I don’t know the specific Vets name, but he has no business dealing with animals or people.nnWhen we finally got Max back, we could see in his eyes that we were making that right decision, something that our primary Vet at Pinnacle confirmed when we took Max there later to be euthanized. The concern and compassion that our primary Vet at Pinnacle was in stark contrast to the cruel heartless treatment by the vet at MedVet. My guess is that he was more motivated by the income that admitting Max for two days would have generated than for his actual well-being. I would never take another animal to MedVet, and I advise you not to as well.nn****Update**** The Vet’s name is Ryan Wheeler, the same Ryan Wheeler with similar complaints from other reviewers.

Been here since 12 PM. Still here my animal hasn't even been seen, horrible experience and I haven't even got the bill. More to come....

My cat had an embedded nail and needed it to have it cut. Staff was friendly and was able to treat my cat's nail. They didn't even charge me for it! Fantastic service, I'll definitely come back in the future.

Positive Experience with Dr. Nielsen. I met with Dr. Nielsen to consult with her on performing surgery (TECA-LBO) for my dog's critical ear problem. She was extremely patient and knowledgeable, and even though ultimately I did not proceed with the surgery at this clinic (mostly because it was slightly more expensive than other places), I felt that that she would have been an excellent choice to perform a surgery.

Total disaster. Our veterinarian put out a referral to MedVet for an oncology (cancer) for our dog, not something that can wait. A week later and 2 additional referrals - no call back.nnI don’t know how these people stay in business. If I was the owner - I would fire the staff responsible. Please take a look at the other reviews.
