My 70 year old wife suffered a severely pinched sciatic nerve while on vacation in France in mid-Sept, 2018. It was so bad she needed a wheelchair to get around. Before this, she was an avid cyclist, and worked out every day, cycling, lifting weights, and doing Pilates.nnWe saw Dr. Kahan on September 17. He ordered up an MRI and an x-ray, plus prescribed a conservative course of rehabilitation.nnTwo months and three office visits later, my wife is pain free and about 80% recovered (still working on strength and endurance). Our goal was to get her back to her old routine by the end of December, and here it is only mid-November.nnThe great thing about Dr. Kahan was his positive, yet realistic approach to my wife's recovery. He gave us the pros and cons for all kinds of options, especially during our initial two visits, and made sure we were fully informed so that we could choose what was best for my wife.nnTo us it was nearly a miracle to have such a recovery. My wife went from being in a wheelchair in terrible, constant pain, to being pain free in less than two months. Obviously everyone is different, and not everyone will experience such an amazing recovery, but we feel we owe a lot of that to Dr. Kahan's advice and treatment.nnWe actually will miss going to see Dr. Kahan because of his gentle, caring treatment, which also includes his staff. Everyone in the office made us feel important and was very helpful and efficient.

My experience from my 2 visits and I am very happy. I was in pain and met Dr. Kahan already in the front area while going through the paper work. He greeted me with an encouraging smile and just like that took some of my worries away. When I really met him, I learned that he knew the studies from the other doctor. And while he was quick with his assessment, he took all the time to answer my questions and straightened out some misconceptions I had and walked me through the upcoming procedure.nnThe actual procedure was this morning and I was a nervous wreck, but Dr. Kahan and his team are so nice, calm and reassuring that I felt to be in very good hands. I really appreciate Dr. Kahan's support and that he was singing along the radio ;o), when I was prepped to calm me down. It's all the little things that help me.nnThey all were so lovely at the surgery center, that I now feel much better for the second and maybe 3rd leg of this endeavor.
