Washington Elementary School

I went to this school and was so happy when I got out. Mrs. dsculase used to yell at me for doing nothing. mrs Garcia, laffontasse and mrs v, and mrs Stevenson were the only teachers who were nice to me. mr mc manus was the worst he yelled at me for doing nothing, and when graduation comes someone tell the principal or 5th grade teachers to not give out a flower to your favorite parent the person who didn't get the flower heart will be broke overall I hate this school don't go to it.

Some teachers are really great, and others, not so much. My daughter had a hard, but good teacher, Mrs Hower her first year. Second grade, she had a very encouraging, supportive teacher Ms Garcia who installed a love for reading. Reading was a struggle in first grade, just to get her caught up to grade level. Ms Garcia was instrumental in working with Kaiti two mornings a week-the second half of the year. Ms Garcia was kind and patient and wasn’t going to give up on her. In 2nd grade, she continued working with Kaiti in her reading and writing, despite Kaiti being borderline ADHD.nThis year, for 3rd grade, I feel like she isn’t getting the support she needs. Her writing and spelling are atrocious. Her writing is getting worse instead of better. This teacher Ms Cornett, doesn’t have spelling lists or tests. Many days, especially before Christmas break, instead of studying math, spelling, social studies, etc., time was spent playing games and making collages. I don’t feel she’s learning what she needs to know to be prepared for 4th grade. I am not impressed with this teacher at all. I have no idea what kaiti is learning or doing-the teacher does not communicate with parents. The “Do Jo” app which Ms Cornett said she’d be using throughout the school year, went dead by October. She’s one of these very nice, but useless teachers. Kaiti hasn’t grown academically this year. I don’t really like this teacher much. Washington is a great school-it needs more high quality teachers like Ms Garcia and Mrs Hower.

Nice school for kids. It's near the train station and the train makes a lot of noise.
