After waking with a toothache last Friday I contacted the office to have them take a look at my tooth. I went in later that morning and explained the reason for my visit. X-rays were taken, I was given a list of a couple cavities that needed to be repaired and I was told there was nothing to be worried about with regards to the pain I was experiencing. I never spoke to the Dr only the assistant that took the X-ray and the women at the front window. They scheduled me for several appointments to repair a couple cavities and clean my teeth.nnThe following Thursday I arrived for my 10am appointment 5 minutes early and was asked to wait in my vehicle and they would call me in just a few minutes. Just after 10:30am I was called inside and almost immediately asked to run my card for payment then told to wait in a chair in the lobby were I waited 25 more minutes before moving me into the room where the dental procedures take place.... where I waited 20 more minutes to see the Dr briefly to inject something into my gums to numb the tooth. 10 minutes later when the Dr began grinding my tooth after saying “let me know if you feel anything” I felt significant pain and raised my hand and explained it was very painful the response from the assistant in a condescending tone “is it pain or just pressure?” The Dr. responded “let’s give you another shot” and laughed a bit, after the shot he immediately began grinding again. I was trying to just be tough and let him get it done as I felt I was a bother to them. I must have flinched a bit so he stopped and gave the shot a few minutes to take effect. When he began grinding again it was the same very high level of pain. I flinched a bit and explained it was very painful and asked if it was normal the Dr said “no but let’s let’s put some more” this time he injected the needle on the inside roof of my mouth. This was pretty painful but I’m confident that is to be expected. We spoke briefly about how bad that shot to the roof of the mouth was and about the pain in my tooth and why it is so bad. It seemed like he was frustrated or even agitated. I apologized and explained I was trying my best. He began grinding again The pain was still the same. I was holding as still as possible but my mouth must have started to close so he picked up a rubber mouth spacer and placed it between my teeth on the opposite side. I was doing my best to lay still and let him work on my tooth but I flinched when the pain was to great so he stopped, said “let’s give that a little while” and took a second break from grinding my tooth. At this point it was after 12 noon, most of my face was numb and I was feeling like I wasn’t being cared for properly. I felt it was in my best interest to be as nice as possible, (when the assistant was back in the room) I kindly asked that the other procedures to be held off for another day as I had to get back to work, and continue to be as nice and tough as possible to get the crown completed. When the Sr came back and continued grinding my tooth I held as still as possible and endured the pain for 10-15 minutes until he was done. While he was working on the tooth design I watched how it worked and spoke to him about it a bit. I could tell he was annoyed by me but was going along with the conversation. I felt embarrassed as I was trying to win over this man that was providing such pour service. They completed the crown, installed it checking the alignment several times and grinded the tooth to make sure it cleared the top teeth. I left shortly after 1pm. I was dissatisfied with the services but I had no intention of making a review.nn3 hours later all the pain killers he had injected into my mouth have worn off and my pain level was extremely high. I wanted to believe I was just very sore from the procedure and that it was an extremely sensitive tooth. I took some Tylenol for the pain and explained what I was experiencing to my wife. She decided to call the office and explain what was going on. They said it is likely out of alignment and to come back. (Character limitations)
