I’ve been down here six times in the last two months. Every single time they are not open. It might be a beautiful structure but taxpayers pay to keep it open, maintained, & staffed. Yet they Are never open to the public and provide no service. This is government bureaucracy at its best. Let the private sector handle these matters please?
Beautiful. And so well built for the location.
Who knew that a courthouse could be so interesting? Inside this gorgeous building is a small museum with a lot of local history: gold rush, indigenous people, telephone, hats, an old court office, and so much more. We could have spent a few hours there, but even the 30 minutes we browsed were informative and interesting. The wanted poster pic was most entertaining.
A very beautiful And historic courthouse in Old Town Auburn, Placer County. There is a museum inside inside and also every Saturday at 10 AM a docent gives about an hour and a half tour of the courthouse and Old Town Auburn - very interesting.
