I love The Grand! My favorite Christmas gift last year was a membership here, and it has been just the greatest! I love going to the movies here and they always have the best selection, not to mention the BEST popcorn in town. Do yourself a favor and get yourself a membership!!

My husband and I became members of The Grand Cinema a few years’ ago & have never regretted it. The GC is an independent & very unique in design, old/historical movie theatre, which specializes in showing artistic & foreign & independent films vs run-of-the-mill Top Action movies like Marvel films or the Transformer series of action films. Their staff are mainly volunteers & it’s obvious they like being there - they are invariably helpful & polite. Their popcorn is some of the best popcorn I’ve ever tasted at any movie theatre, or anywhere else for that matter - it’s always fresh & hot & they use real butter, vs that disgusting artificial yellow ‘slime’ junk, you get at most commercial movie theatres. As members, we get a discount on all movies & popcorn, along with close-by parking, which is a nice trade-off for the annual membership fees. The GC is in downtown Tacoma, is easy to find & reminds me of an old, treasured relic from the past.

Fun movie theater. Lots of knowledgeable volunteers. Yummy popcorn & ice cream--they even had a dairy free ice cream which I can eat! Also, some healthy nuts so you don't have to eat junk food. Great place!

Best local theater I've ever been to. Student discounts for Huskies, and alcohol while you sit in a cozy theater that has seats that are set in such a way that you won't have a hard time seeing over someone. Indepented films are awesome, support indies and encourage the local film scene!

The only theater around that you can see indie films. Great prices on tickets, and concessions including beer and wine. Seats are tight but comfortable enough.
