Bassett High School

In all honestly at this point I can only give the school a 2. If it wasn't for the resilient hearts of the great kids that attended this High School, office staff and the teachers that are doing their best to educate our children this school would have no chance. It seems the kids here make the best of what they have while keeping their complaints to a minimum. I see a lot of Joy on the faces of the kids every time I'm on campus. I rarely hear cussing or the use of inappropriate language by students while adults are present. In regards to the school campus it is very dirty and there are safety issues throughout. These problems are a complete reflection of campus leadership and a school board that obviously needs to be babysat at this point. Another problem is there seems to be no type of accountability which probably has a lot to do with the fact that only a couple parents bother to show up for the school board meetings. These kids at Bassett High School deserve better. If you would like to join me in trying to make some visible change or would just like to comment on my review you can easily find me at coffee with the principal or any school board meeting. Enclosing I would like to ask that the school not offended by my review but rather step up to the challenges that lay ahead for the Bassett Unified School District because we are way behind in terms of Building Construction that would create a safer and self esteem lifting environment for our children. Former Student. It's average. You have a 50/50 chance of getting a nice teacher who helps or a teacher who is a jerk and makes your life hard (Peters, I'm looking at you)

District sucks, not many caring and devoted teachers at this school, and priorities aren't in place. This school needs a lot of change.
