Blue Heron Arts, Company run and owned by Victoria and Henri Li, is a magnificent and superb Chinese Art supply store for me to buy excellent art painting supplies as well as outstanding books on Chinese Painting and online. I was looking for a rare book on Google recommended by an artist friend in China which delineates the painting of Bamboo from ancient times. I found this book on newly discovered BHA and am now a regular customer online. I am most impressed by the excellent books they sell and I find them great for studying Chinese Art. Also, BHA is expedient in sending their products and the packaging of them is also excellent. I highly recommend Blue Heron Arts, Company to any aspiring artist in Chinese Brush Painting!

Blue Heron Arts mounted a large rice paper painting I purchased while travelling in China. The painting had ripped in several places and a corner had torn off. Henry was able to mount it and it looks perfect - you can't tell where the rips are or where the corner was missing. Thank you! I love being able to display this in my home!

Overall, my experience was disappointing. I ordered a few items and a jumbo horse-hair brush. The items were shipped quickly. Unfortunately, when I open the box the brush was already losing hairs. I notified Henry and was at first presented with options to replace the brush but he requested images. I sent images and was replied to with “it’s not that bad just use it.” In my experience as a painter, I have brushes that are 20 years old and a brush that is losing hair before it’s even used is going to continue to fall apart. I was unable to gain assurances from Henry. The brush was readily losing hair, so I taped a clump of the hairs to a piece of paper and returned it. My money was refunded without issue, but no response made as to why they were selling me an inferior quality product at the price point they are asking.

Their brushes are very pricey, so I only purchased 7 brushes ranging from 4 to 10 dollars. I can't comment on the expensive ones they sell, but among the 7 brushes I got, only one is usable. I should have bought just one or two. Lesson learned.

I received calligraphy on rice paper handmade by a friend in China. It came to me folded. Henry mounted it for me on a silk scroll and got ALL of the fold wrinkles out. Every single one. My jaw dropped when I received it. It's like a different piece. Gorgeous work, fast service (the turnaround time was faster than listed), beautiful artistry. I would recommend Blue Heron Arts Co. to anyone. The silk scroll is weighty and has a lovely, high-quality feel. I can't wait to put it up on the wall!
