Parking lot opens at 8sm and there is no street parking in the vicinity of this area. We had to park a mile away in the residential area a mile away and walk to the park.

Mt. Diablo has an extensive network of trails and challenging hikes. Winter time is my favorite time to hot the trails due to the cool temperatures. The summer time can be brutally hot, so I typically avoid it. The summit has a nice little visitor center with an exhibit of the history of the area. They have an observatory tower that lets you enjoy unobstructed views from the top. Many people bike on the road to the summit.

The people at the visitors centers were a delight. Friendly and helpful. I was also impressed with how clean the bathrooms were. Actual soap in a bathroom like this.

Easy to find and plenty of parking. Filling out the form for payment and depositing it in the box is a real hassle!! But clean bathrooms and great access to main trailheads make this place a favorite.

Excellent trail head to hike Mt. Diablo. Make sure to bring cash to pay for parking
