I have just completed the baking curriculum of the Laney CollegenCulinary Arts program. It was one of the most enjoyable and rewarding educational experience I have ever had.nnThe program will prepare you for a successful career in the bakingnand services industry.nnThe program is tailored to train anyone with absolutely nonexperience to become a professional baker. The classes providenreal world hands-on experience in the preparation of baked goods.nnThe instructors are professionals with many years of experience in the industry. They will make every effort to make your experience enjoyable and rewarding.nnLastly you cannot beat the cost of the program. Why pay anywherenfrom $65,000 to $100,00 to attend a private profession culinary programnwhen you can go to Laney and learn the same stuff for a fraction of the cost?

I have greatly enjoyed my time at Laney College especially in the culinary program. I have made many friends here the instructors are great. We get tons of time cooking in kitchen and even get to sell our own creations in the Bistro. The Instructors are old school and care about the students. Next time your around downtown at lunch time check out the Bistro. And if your thinking of going to culinary school come here!!!

Laney College has been a great experience. I have recently completed the culinary program and my time there was great. I received opportunities in kitchens outside of the school that helped to enhance my cooking skills. The support I received was continuous and I made great relationships with people in the program. I intend to return in the fall for the baking program. I highly recommend Laney College.

I have greatly enjoyed my experience in the Baking and Pastry program of Laney College. I have created desserts I have dreamed of making and perfecting. In my International Patisserie course, I got to learn a variety of classical desserts from all over the world. The chefs are amazing and guide you towards greatness. Often times I was presented with many job opportunities to grow in my culinary abilities. If baking is your passion, I urge you to join the baking and pastry program. You will be taught a variety of techniques and will be whipping up creations you never thought were possible.

I've been doing the baking and pastry program for three semesters now and it has exceeded my expectations. First of all, the core classes are 90% hands-on work. The other 10% are mainly lectures about the history of the product you are about to recreate. The chef instructors are extremely knowledgeable in the industry and will help you guide your way into a successful career. Many people coming into the program are trying to get their foot in because they don't have any experience. My first semester I was able to get a job in catering with help from my instructors. Even if you're not looking for a career, this program can help improve your skills in the kitchen. However, they will still prepare you as if you are going to work at a kitchen. They also offer a course in the savory side if baking and pastries isn't what you're looking for.
