Mr. Reid, please answer my email about the deposit you owe us. $4663. We are retired military and on SS so it is important that we get the deposit back for the trip that was cancelled due to Covid.

If I could give this company less than one star I would. The promised luxury rail car never happened, and that was the sole reason we booked our travel with them. We paid them $6000+ for the trip from NYC to Montreal and back, and the only compensation they offered was around $40 ea for the promised meals we would have had been provided had the luxury rail car had been there as promised. When I emailed to express my displease with the measly compensation, they told me if I didn’t like it, to not go. Will never travel with this company again, and I urge others to not book travel with them, either.

If they owe you money, good luck on getting it back in a reasonable time. Very disappointed in their Western Trip.

Wondered about Company when didn't get responses to phone calls or emails before trip. Went anyway. Guide, William Burnet, was very good. However, many problems with correct information. One itinerary said 4 nights on HA Zaandam and it was 5! Train said Canada's showcase train, The Canadien, which we thought was different and better than ViaRail. NOT! We booked 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite, and got 1 bedroom/1 bath rooms. Eventually next day they took down wall. Train 8 hours late. 2 very stinky old cars going in for renovation that we had to walk through on way to dinner....YUCK! Left at midnight and arrived in Jasper at midnight from Vancouver. Great bus driver at station to pick us up and delivered our bags to room. Very nice! However, lost 8 hours sightseeing in Jasper due to Via Rail! (freight trains rule in Canada!)nnNice bus trip to Banff; however, told we had to use our own credit cards to pay for rooms (which we prepaid with Uncommon Journeys) and lug our own bags to our rooms. Our room was at far end of 2nd floor. Not a good check in at all. I told Hotel I will not pay again for our prepaid rooms. Also told to pay our own breakfasts which were prepaid and on itinerary. Challenged our tour guide who eventually got it all worked out 3 days later, after much stressing by 20 in the group! Lugged our own bags to bus though William was kind enough to offer to take them. They had luggage carts so okay.nnI guess the Owner and Manager need to better organize their financial payments so that clients are not surprised and left hanging wondering what is going on! Room for improvement! However, at 70, we will not be using Uncommon Journeys again, sorry to say!nnI would recommend to anyone wanting to see Jasper and Banff and ride the train, only go Rocky Mountaineer. It's a little more, but so much more classy! They are only train that goes into Banff!
