I go there every once and a while to watch the workouts, it’s a great place for football especially on Saturday.
New facilities for athletics but the little theater and large auditorium looks unused for plays and concerts at the time
Good all around athletic field. 6 lane track, football field. Is usually busy for high school athletic events.
I went there just to watch the 2019 workout I was part of the team in 76 the bicentennial year I went back to see if I could help up in any kind of way that's what you supposed to do when you are. Alumini that you come back you help out you give something back that you got from a fantastic school they gave you first of all and foremost one of the best education's to start with we had some of the greatest teachers and they were black black mr. Ward math teacher mr. Dicky chemistry-physics these folks were black they set you down and related to you and talk to you in a manner to which you would understand they made Classroom Fun they made it easy so you could be manageable through life but the athletic department GIFTED IN every sport Water Polo golf ping pong football basketball baseball track and field You Name It We shine we used to have a locker room full of memorabilia from every year why the heck did this athletic director throw all of that stuff out understand she's part of these New Millennium I'm no it ain't too many blacks in Berkeley now you know cuz OF THRE REGENTIFERCATION or you know I can't afford to live there whatever you want to call it but that was history history that stuff went back all the way to the forties we dominated the acal ALL THE way to State meets yes every year told a story a piece of history that was tradition for Berkeley that was in between everybody else we only had one school so we had to step up to the plate we didn't hesitate. WE participated and it's a shame that athletic director didn't see that in through all them trophies plaques medals in a dumpster I said it all but I was glad to be back trying to help out my school that help create and and set me up for lifenIt didn't make a difference if we were saluting the flag on the first turn or sitting on the brick wall talking about what we going to be when we grow up it didn't make a difference it was Berkeley you were a jacket a yellow jacket proud and true
Great place to play football on Saturdays.
