This is a difficult post for me to write but I would have appreciated a review like this when I was going to Dr. Wenger. I heard this practice could assist with my long running (12 year) gut health issues. They did not. I was never tested for basic things like hypoglycemia, celiac- never had a blood test run on me as a patient here (9 months). Was given a low-fodmap diet that I explained I had already tried but was told to do it again, lost 12 lbs. and felt like I was dying. No concern for this when I was seen again, down to 109 lbs on a 5'5' frame- I felt like death. I asked to be referred to UVA multiple times because of my extreme fatigue and weight loss, was denied again and again. Eventually went to my midwife/gynecologist for regular check up and was immediately tested for multiple illnesses and recommended to a GI NP. In one visit to my gynecologist I was given more help than 9 months seeing Dr. Wenger. I felt that he did not listen to me nor remember the details of my case. Be your own advocate, if you feel gaslighted or aren't getting the help you need seek help elsewhere. I post this with respect and hope that it can help someone avoid what I went through if you attend this practice and feel ignored or that you aren't receiving proper treatment. Please understand I do not post negative reviews but this feels important. Thank you.
