I have been going here for years and love Dr. SCHMITT. She is so helpful and listens to you to fully understand. Would not see anyone else. Now have 2 other family members going to her.

I went to DAV in Colonial Heights for the 1st time this summer.nnI had two issues.nnISSUE ONE:nI gave DAV permission to text me regarding my appointments. I received a text from DAV with a specific format, starting with my first name. Keep in mind that this text message format was unique for the messages I typically received. Soon after, I started receiving spam with the exact same format, starting with my first name. I have had this same phone number for nearly two decades and have never received spam text messages addressing me on a first name basis. I blocked the spam number (which was spoofed). I was then no longer able to to call or text DAV until I unblocked the spoofed spam number. I called DAV to alert them that perhaps someone hijacked their text message list and to try to resolve the issue. I was trying to troubleshoot the issue and either confirm or disprove my suspicions with the help of DAV but I never heard back. I am still getting these spam / spoofed text messages at all times of day and night, and likely will forever, unless I simply change my number.nnISSUE TWO:nMy dermatologist gave me a quick glance when I asked her to look at specific skin condition. When she stated her perception of my condition, which was incorrect, I had to insist that she look closer and see what would have been obvious to anyone with eyes. She finally relented, but had she taken the time to LOOK the first time and not glance, we would not have had to go back and forth. I decided against a follow-up visit. She is now retired, so there is no need for me to name her.

Been going here for a couple years and I am very impressed with the efficiency and consistency of the whole experience.Everyone I have come in contact with has been friendly and helpful.I can't say enough good things about Dr Martin, he has been professional, thorough and I know I'm in good hands.Definitely would highly recommend.

To Whom it May Concern: I am writing this letter of complaint to inform you of the terrible experience I had as a patient of Christopher, T. Aleman, M.D., during my office consultation with him on October 22, 2020, 12:00 pm Eastern, at the ColonialHeights office of Dermatology Associates of Virginia, P.C. I have never in my life left an appointment with a medical professional in tears and feeling traumatized. After waiting patiently for a fair amount of time to be called back and describing my symptoms to the nurse, Dr. Aleman abruptly entered the room. I began to explain my symptoms and long history with a very troubling patch of psoriasis on my left leg. This is something I had discussed previously with my regular dermatologist at your practice during a prior visit several years ago. Dr. Aleman did not listen to anything I had to say and completely disregarded my words as he began to bark commands for what I later discovered would be a series of painful injections. Dr. Aleman did NOT take any time to explain what the injection was or what he thought was wrong with my leg. I was obviously very taken aback by his almost bullish treatment and utter lack of willingness to talk to me or take anything I had to say seriously. I still do not know what he put in my leg. I do know that it has since made it worse than it was before I saw the doctor. I will be attaching a picture of my leg in this email that was taken 8 hours after his series of painful, unnecessary, mystery injections. I am also attaching a photo with a small example of skin flakes from the leg psoriasis I have recently collected from my sheets. My psoriasis has recently gotten worse and spread to the bottoms of my feet. This has been exceptionally bothersome for me. I was again ignored when I mentioned my feet. He took one glance and wrote me some cream prescription, which I will not be filling based on the complete disregard for what my condition actually needs.He did not take a skin biopsy or do anything other than the painful shot, offer“itch pills,” and cream. I did not have a chance to show the Dr all of the places that bother me, nor did he ask before he was out the door, leaving me crying, in shock, and bewildered. In case you are curious, Dr. Aleman decided based on a brief and totally incomplete evaluation that I have Lichen Simplex Chronicus. I tried to explain that I have been having flaking of white patches from this area of psoriasis on my leg for several years and have tried so very many prescription creams and ointments with the guidance of my PCP, to no avail. I tried to discuss my family history of auto-immune diseases but was ignored. I had to ask the nurse through my tears what had even happened and what he said was wrong with me. The closest thing I can equate this experience to is an assault. I felt violated, disregarded, disrespected, and ignored. Not only is Dr. Aleman's bedside manner is atrocious, but his arrogance and disregard for his patients is a liability. I pray no other patient has to endure the treatment that I experienced at his hands.nn-Susan O'Neill
