I highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a new career in the dental field! The staff at this school were so friendly, they genuinely care about your personal education in this 16 week course. Most of the work is hands on so you actually learn what you need to obtain a dental job after completion. They also are willing to work with you on your schedule and after hours if you need extra help. The tuition is very much affordable compared to others but the education you receive is so incredible. I received many job offers after a week of graduating this class!! I now love my career and urge anyone who is thinking about this class to take it!

This class and the staff is absolutely wonderful. You will learn everything that you need to know about dental assisting and more. The teachers do everything they can to help you succeed! I could keep going on and on. But to keep it short and sweet, It’s worth it.

I attended the Dental Assisting Institute of Virginia in February of 2016, and graduated in July of 2016. Yes, the class does go by extremely fast so you have to stay alert at all times. I originally wanted to attend J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, but chose this school instead so I could start my dental assisting career sooner than 2 years. The class takes place in the waiting room of the dental office which is quite small, so my class only had about 12-15 people in it. They do provide one pair of scrubs and a lab binder filled with pages of everything they will go over. Half of the course was in the office 2 days a week, and the other half we had to do online at home. Toward the middle/end, you will have to find a dental office to intern at, which was a huge challenge. They do NOT set you up with an office, you have to go find one yourself. During this process I noticed some offices had a bad experience with previous students from this school and had denied me. After weeks of searching, I finally found an office that allowed me to intern and proceeded with the course. Our finals were both hands on and tested on a laptop (which they also do not provide). During graduation you will receive a certificate/diploma, NOT a degree. Your CPR certification will be mailed to you. After graduation they do NOT help you find a job. A few girls in the class were lucky enough to receive a job at their internship, while I struggled to find one. When I began this job in March of 2017, I realized a lot of the information we went over so quickly had left my mind. I talked to my coworkers that attended different schools and they had mentioned that their program helped them find an internship AND a place to work. This school does not do that. Though their classes were 2 years and not 6 months like mine, they seemed so much more confident and educated in their work. Overall, I enjoyed the classes because everyone was so friendly including the doctors and the assistants/instructors. Now that I am a working assistant, looking back I wish the class was longer so I could retain the information for more than a week before jumping on the next lesson. It also would have been easier if they would have actually helped the students find a place intern and help us find jobs! I cannot emphasize how hard it was doing that on my own. For anyone who is reading this, PLEASE take your time to chose your education wisely. Be patient and do NOT ever rush your education process! This is not a bad school, just be aware of your options.

I attended this school in March 2015 and graduated June 2015, I absolutely loved every aspect of it and the wonderful atmosphere in the office where the class is held! I learned so much in the 13 weeks we were there, the instructors were very helpful and we did a lot of hands on stuff, which is my favorite way of learning. After I graduated I got hired on as a dental assistant at the dentist office where the school is held and I am a teacher for the school! It just so happened they were looking for someone at the time and it was meant to be! I love the office and all the students that come through our school. We always do our best to help each student find a good place to intern at and we always keep an ear out for offices hiring and alert our students when to apply! I highly reccomend this school to everyone interested in dentistry or anyone who is just unsure of what career to choose!
