Love visiting the falls in all sorts of weather. The river was up quite a bit this week.

Wider then it was the last time I was there.nI guess I didn't realize the power water has on erosion on the rock. So Ot was a Great New Years Day.nI do wish they had someone there telling people to wear a mask thought. Only maybe 10 % or less of the people were wearing mask and that was scary for me..

The falls visitor center has limited parking so be prepared to wait, circle and walk. That’s the downside, but it only gets better from there.nnThere are several observation spots to view the falls from and take photos. There are several flights of stairs involved for the closest observation location to the falls, but there are others that are ramp accessible.nnThere is an on location attraction vendor to purchase rafting and kayaking exertions. There is a gem mining activity for those interested in that sort of thing. Several of the walking trails start from this location as well. There is a massive staircase down to the beach area. This is a great spot for a picnic on the large lawn area. There are a few picnic tables available, so if the plan is to picnic, you should bring a blanket because they fill up quick.nnThere is a snack bar with all the basics. Ice cream, hot dogs, nachos etc. The gift shop was smaller than I expected but they have all the knick knacks you would expect.

Relaxing and must visit if you are in Kentucky. My visit was unplanned and I am really excited that I could relish the beauty of nature
