Daniel Boone National Forest

The whole forest is amazing. I highly recommend doing the trails, although in early spring it is wet and can prove difficult to some. The trails can e easy or very challenging and for being at a low altitude the elevation gain you get on some of these trails is amazing high. The arches are amazing and if you are into earth science here is a great place to study it. The canyons and lakes are magnificent and it's very cheap to visit. Highly recommend going.

Great cool summer day for hiking to Dog Slaughter Falls.

You want to hike, climb, mud, kayak, camp this place is perfect for you. Everytime you come it is a new experience but also a nice familiar feeling about it too. But follow the parking rules, currently hitting $80 for parking tickets, to be fair there are plenty of signs telling you to park in designated areas only.

I love going to Boone's National Forest, I live close by so that makes it a real convenience for me, I really like taking my wonderful little granddaughters ,family,& friends there for picnicking ,and sightseeing it's truly a wonderful and interesting place to go visit. The Red River Gorgeous Area has a rich & beautiful history in its own glory,I recommend it highly for a place to go an visit.

Grew up here, great scenery, roads aren't bad, plenty to do even if you dont have money. Go visit cave run lake and clear creek recreation area, great places to have fun. (Swimming, hiking, horseback riding trails, ATV trails and much more)
