Fayette County Circuit Court's Division of Driver's License

This change in driver's licensing for the state should NEVER have been allowed by the state legislature. It should NEVER have been moved out of the County Clerk's offices. One office? Not 2 is absurd for Fayette County.nnThis location in Fayette County is the WORST POSSIBLE LOCATION, on a side of town NOBODY goes too, nor wants to. The entrance is a left hand turn in front of Leestown school, against in bound traffic, and usually a bunch of UPS trucks turning off Mercer Rd heading in bound for deliveries.nnThe building and entrance is poorly set up, the parking lot entirely too small. The phone number on the web page is WRONG, and finding information on driver's permits is badly linked, hard to find, and then is virtually filled in with NO APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE.nnThe information is sorely lacking all the way around on how to schedule a permit test.nNo where are the office hours posted.nnThey made this worse, not better-----as if that was the plan all along . . . .

I really appreciate the help with My change of address on My driver license today. Valerie and Anita, Thank You ladies! They are very knowledgeable and made My visit less stressful while I was there. If You are looking to be seen as a walk in, plan to get there early as they only have so many walk in spots available which is understandable.

I was on call for a long time and then got hung up on. Twice.

This worthless office couldn’t be bothered to read the “mailing address” and sent my license to the wrong address. When I followed up I got a snotty email from Samantha J out of Frankfort who refused to help me at all and snottily invalidated my license because she was on a power trip. Called the office and a sweet lady whose name I didn’t catch said that the license should have been sent to the mailing address before sending me to Tommy who straight up lied about the information on the website and couldn’t decide what “mailing address” meant (No, the commonwealth does NOT do online renewals like other states).

Great! I was a walk-in and only waited about 40 minutes. I would recommend going as early as possible if you do not have an appointment. Ashley T at station 4 was very helpful and patience when I had a problem obtaining my out-of-state driving record.
