Ashland - The Henry Clay Estate

Beautiful property and lots of great historical signs to read and learn. We didn't take the tour but enjoyed reading about life in Henry Clay's day and walking around to see the trees he planted and what life was like here. Cool smokehouse and ice wells.

Great tour guide, learned a lot about Henry Clay. Get tickets before you come as they do sell out. Beautiful garden.

Beautiful grounds and it was only March. The summer should be gorgeous with everything in bloom.

Ashland is a gem! They've installed a wide, mulched walking path that circumnavigates the property -- it takes about 12-14 minutes to lap around. You get to see the property from all sides and can enjoy a little nature weaving through the old trees. The gardens are lovely throughout the year and Ashland offers a variety of garden types to inspire your own home garden. I haven't taken the museum tour yet, but when I do, I'll let you know how it goes!
