Bear Valley River Co

This was the best day of river rafting we've ever had. It was awesome. Tremendous service. They take great care of you. We did the whole day canyons trip and highly recommend it. Liam and Jesse were great. We learned a ton, got wet, had plenty of thrills and loved the hot spring. Whole family said it was one of our best days ever. Can't recommend it enough.

My wife and I were visiting Boise for a 3 day weekend. On Friday, we booked a half-day rafting trip with Bear Valley on the Class 4 Staircase portion of the Payete River. We met at the facility at 9:30 am, and were back by about 1 pm. What a fantastic day! Our guide Tommy and spotter Jesse took the time to train everyone on the basics and safety of rafting before we left, so we were well prepared when the rapid hit. I had never rafted before, and my wife had done it once about 20 years ago, but we are both athletic, and opted for the Class 4 trip. This was the right call. To my it looks like Class 1 and 2 is good for kids - just a bumpy ride. Class 3 gets significantly more challenging and technical, and Class 4 requires concentration and direction from the guide. For us, anything less than a Class 4 trip probably would not have been worth it. We stopped about halfway down and had the opportunity to do some cliff jumping which was a lot of fun. The day is a great mix of relaxing rafting, which is largely spent training and practicing for the rapids, watching the incredible scenery, checking out wildlife, and preparing for the intermittent Class 3 and Class 4 rapids that are located throughout the run. We had 3 couples plus Tommy in our raft, for a total of 7 people. It was a perfect day and I would highly recommend Bear Valley, and this particular run to anyone. There is a full day ride that incorporates some more difficult Class 4 rapids called the Canyons. We'd love to try that next time.

Bear valley river co was an amazing experience all around! We changed party size, and which tour we took, and they were so accommodating it was fantastic. Matt our guide for the day was the absolute best! He gave us a great briefing before the serious rapids and kept us safe and having an absolute blast the entire time! I cannot recommend bear valley and especially Matt any more! A must do if you are looking to cool off on a warm summer day or even if you are looking for an exciting out on the river! 10/10!
