Hughes River Expeditions

I just got back from my 8th trip with Hughes and I could not have asked for a better time. First off, the guides were phenomenal! They really make the whole experience so special and the Hughes staff is the best of the best. Second, the river(I was on the lower salmon) was drop dead gorgeous. Hughes has really managed to find the perfect balance of vacation and adventure. The thrilling rapids, stunning canyons, and cozy camps are perfect and make for an amazing trip. If you are looking for an outfitter, Hughes is 100% the best choice and you will NOT be disappointed!!!!

Just returned from 5 day-4 night on Middle Fork. Can't say enough good tings about the company and its guides. They were professional, knowledgeable, fun-loving (but kept up safe) and great cooks. They were awesome as was the food and scenery. We loved every moment! Thanks to all our guides for making this a special trip.

I was blown away. This company was amazing from start to finish. We took the 5 day trip on the Snake River through Hells Canyon and every step of the way was perfect. The guides were very fun, and worked a cohesive group. At the end of the trip we found out that they function more or less as a family even off the river, and it showed. They were also very safe, pointing out all the hidden spots to avoid on the rapids, but they weren't overbearing either. Some of the young guys on our trip wanted to hit the harder rapids, and they showed us where they all were.nnThe food was out of this world. Day 1-5 we had salmon, steak, pork tenderloin, awesome salads, cakes. I don't know what to say, the food was better than most hotels I've been too. Honestly I'm not sure how they did it. There was also more than enough. Waaaay more than enough food.nnAll transportation was smooth, all the logistics worked perfectly, no complaints there. I couldn't find a real complaint with the company. Too much food? I don't know.nnAll in all this is a local family business that has been running the river for over 40 years. They helped us through every step of the trip logistics and made everything easy. The guides rocked, the rapids were awesome, and the campsites were unreal. I wouldn't use another rafting company in the area just because of this trip.
