Fort Running Bear RV Camping Resort

The owners and employees here go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome and safe. We have a water heater go out while we were here. They let us extend our visit 5 days until we could get into the repair shop. The views around are beautiful. There is a great hiking trail where we came within 20 feet of a deer that surprised us and scampered off.nThe downside is the 3 mile dirt road to get there. It is well maintained, but still very dusty, and you will throw rocks at your tow vehicle, so go slow.

Lovely oasis, nice pool, mini golf, a lot of shade, a special area is reserved for tents. The lady who received us is helpful and very friendly. We just stop for the night but I would stay for few days without hesitation.

Amazing if you.seek.quiet and incredible views. This is like an Oasis on a mountain top. They only have 30a electric but up here it is cool and the nights are incredible. You will have to drive up a.3 mile dirt road which is very.smooth,.but VERY dusty. But it will wash off and the park is worth it. By the way, the owners here are some of the most helpful.and genuine people you will meet anywhere. This may not be the perfect place for everyone, but if you ever wanted to park your RV in the middle of the Sound of Music movie, this is must stop. If you can't stand getting your RV and toad dusty, probably should go elsewhere. We stayed here in a 45' class a towing a Jeep Wrangler in June.
