I’m not sure if it’s the area? Or what it is? But how this place has anywhere near a four star rating is beyond me. From start to finish it was just all wrong. The table was sticky and dirty. The water glasses were replaced as they were dirty. We started with soup which was decent. We were very patient with our waitress as she seemed new and very unfamiliar to not only waiting but especially Japanese cuisine. Though she didn’t have a single answer to any question we were still polite and gracious. Our food arrived and it was perhaps average for the area? I’d say very below average for nearly anywhere else. Very oily even though we ordered vegetarian and vegan options. Then came the stomach pains. We should’ve left after soup or let the dirtiness be an indicator. We both felt awful through the duration of the night. I’d avoid this place if it was up to me but to each his own...

Fantastic sushi restaurant. Everything I've had here has been exceptional. A great local Los Alamos business. Dine-in capacity is limited at the moment due to state restrictions and they do have carryout but expect to wait about 45 minutes to pick up the order.

Looking at the reviews thought I'd give it a try. Not impressed. I ordered the Chicken Katsu and Shrimp Shumai online for pickup right when they opened. Shumai had a squirt of mustard in the container for the shumai to roll around and coat itself in. Though but it would be in a separate container. It's not a fancy mustard dipping sauce. It just plain ol mustard. Not a fan of it. Chicken Katsu barely had an Katsu sauce on it. So it was pretty much just breaded chicken cutlets. Rice didn't taste fresh. I was hoping since I was picking up right when it openes up that my food would be hot. Warm at best. Miso soup was in foam to go container and that was borderline cold. I know most reviews here are for their sushi, but chicken Katsu is pretty much an easy no-brainer menu item. So I'm basing the rest of the menu off of this one time ordering. Next time I find myself having to stay in Los Alamos overnight I'll take the time to drive down to Santa Fe or Espanola.

Good food but EXTREMELY hard to get a hold of. Either always get a busy signal or a strange fax noise. Very frustrating.

We were surprised to find such good sushi up here. Quality is great and consistent. Best sushi in Los Alamos, and the service is fantastic. A bit overpriced.
