The steamers and mussels were Seasoned very well. The appetizer of shrimp scampi was swimming in to much sauce. The employees were very pleasant and great atmosphere. I would definitely come back.

Scales & Scales is located on the trendy Thames Street in the heart of Newport. The restaurant gives coastal vibes with a homey touch. The food is authentic and freshly made to order. Scales & Shells is for the seafood lovers. The grilled octopus and shellfish sampler were the highlights of my meal. But you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Drinks are delicious and the food is out of this world.

An excellent meal of raw, steamed, and fried shellfish! Backed by a tasty Sazarak and a local red ale. Service started spotty, but improved through the evening and it was clear from other interactions that the waiter was slammed when I arrived. Social distance was observed, and all staff were masked.nI had the marinara mussels, raw oysters, and reconstructed fried oysters. Yum!
