Wow.nLived up to the hype for sure. This is what seafood is supposed to taste like. Worth every penny.nSeafood linguine insanely good- buttery and sauce was perfect- not too tangy or overpowering, fresh, with basil and ricotta as perfect complements to the perfectly cooked shrimp and scallops.nLobster roll fantastic, fresh and delicious.nFish and chips best I ever had - coating was amazing crunchy and then fluffy/flaky, perfectly seasoned.nClam chowder super delicious.nCrab cake so good- good amount of crab very flaky and tasty especially with the zesty sauce.nChicken burger so flavorful and tender.

We have been huge The Mooring fans for years. Although the menu and staff have gone through natural changes over the years, right now--March 2021--they are clearly back on the upswing. The chowder is among the best, and do not skip a Bag of Donuts (clam-cakes-plus) or two for the table. The seafood was fresh and plentiful. Pricey, but you are getting what you pay for. The interior and rear deck are gorgeous. The staff was knowledgeable and attentive. A sure-fire hit in the center of beautiful Newport RI.

Spicy linguine was probably the best. Everything seems a bit overpriced, but the ambiance makes up for it. Service was adequate, not necessarily to my expectations. Location is great and enough paid parking around. Don't come here for high class dining. Should be 3 stars, but the drink from the bar made it a 4.

Absolutely lovely to be here! The host greeted us and had us seated with a sunset view as requested it was our anniversary. Just the donuts were a bit underwhelming with lot of fried bread with minimal to no lobster & shrimp.nOther than that crab cake & the cod - special of the day were both great. Our drinks were good too. Great recommendations by Ryan who served us and also helped us order. Must visit!

We always enjoy the Mooring and my wife's mother's 92nd birthday, with all of us vaccinated, was a good excuse to go back, after a long pause. I rarely discuss individual dishes, because tastes are different. But it can be assumed that we like the menu because we ate there. I will mention on thing though: their tequila with blood orange is one of the most drinkable drinks I've ever had. It was a particularly nice day sitting down by the water with one of the windows open.
