I go to pitch here as a 5'7 15 year old against some machilds and they give us a 8 foot tall mound with an extremely deep decline. Also, the dirt was not padded down and had loose clay creating a deep loose crater. Fix the mound! Don't make it only for kids who are 6 foot 6 bro what the hell! Every one of my teammates had an excruciating time trying to find the zone because of the atrocious mound, my point is to fix the god daim mound son!
Great place to take the family for an evening of Baseball without the hassle of traffic on the BQE.nGreat way to support the local team and economy. Park is clean, seats and surrounding area is clean. Food is pretty good also for a ballpark setting.nThe view of the city as the sun sets is pretty awesome also.nParking can be a bit tricky, but if you know the area, you'll be fine.
I can't speak to the Club as I'm sure there are great volunteers and kids. This is about the facility and their tournaments. I've been to dozens of tournament facilities on the east coast as a coach and a parent and this was easily the worst I've ever seem. No protection from foul balls, wear a helmet. No nets. Although they work on them between games, the fields are dust bowls. They need better clay and water. Spend the money. On more than one field the basepaths have settled into what could be a short BMX track. Kids run and trip because there are wavy hills from 3rd to home. Doors to (single) bathroom don't close (same conditions over 3 weekends), simple fixes that could make a difference. Tournament officials hide in a trailer and send teenagers out to deal with issues. Perfect Game should reconsider attaching their name to this facility.nBUT- if you do go, get the cherry Italian ice. The food stand and ices in particular, are the only saving grace.
Why don't you have better protection for the spectators like other facility? Baseball heaven/Diamond Nation. Watching games at field 1,2 or 4 you cant easily get hit by a foul ball from another field. It's no wonder nobody has sued Richmond county. The fans need to wear helmet more so the actually player . Baseballs are flying everywhere definitely in my opinion not such a great facility.
You can always see a great baseball game with players of ages from pre-teen to teenager's.
