DMC Primary Care at Londonderry

I have been seeing Dr. Hand for about 20 years. She is compassionate, caring, and always takes her time to address ALL of my medical needs. I highly recommend this practice as ALL of my experiences have been positive here.

I have had Dr. Hand for myself and my children for many years now and she has always been great! I do not like going to the nurse practitioners because they have not diagnosed correctly in the past but love Dr. Hand.

I have been a patient of Derry Medical Center & Londonderry Family Practice for almost two decades. A few years back they expanded from two to three locations which I thought was awesome because it was a local office for me that would keep me from moving to another practice now being a MA resident. I have referred friends with new babies and families to them and was glad to say I had a good thing going, until the last year. I have had a lot of health problems that has led me to have an awful experience. Now taking on four locations and constantly accepting patients, I don’t think they can keep up. I don’t have the same positive experience and it seems like the PCPs that we choose are always stretched too thin. I have dealt with rude front desk help, ignorant nurse practitioners, scheduling appointments with my doctor and having to see another, constantly having to repeat myself or have something go missing because no one had time to read my charts or call me back. Don’t even get me started on the gynecologist that they referred me too whose nursing aide was so demeaning to me (same age bracket) and questioned me to the point where I felt uncomfortable and embarrassed to almost leaving. I am working on finding a new provider but in the mean time thought I’d share a review on google since when I tried to share my bad experiences and challenges directly I was emailed immediately and then they never called or did a follow up. You are asked to pay for the services that you are getting at the time of the appointment and in return you may not even be getting what it is that you are expecting to pay for. As I am writing this I am on the phone with my provider Tufts to find another medical practice that won’t expect me to remember that i have to go to labs a week before my appointment that is two months out - because that’s their job. Even my damn dog has a vet that will remind me when she needs something. Life gets ahead of us and we need to count on the medical professionals that we see to have our back and best interest at heart. You don’t want to feel like every time you call or go in you are being looked at as the one whose the problem only because you are demanding the same standard of performance that made you stay with Londonderry/Derry Family practice.

I have been a patient of Dr Hand's for many years. After going for my yearly physical, I had to request she do an EKG, especially after having two heart attacks. I don't believe she was going to do one. At that time it was learned that I had an irregular heart beat. I went an had a cardiac scan which landed me in the hospital. I am still under a doctors care on an outpatient basis. I no longer have any faith in Dr. Hand. Time to look for a new PCP. I do not trust her Medical skills!!!

I've been coming here since I was a kid. I live in Lowell now and refuse to change doctors. I love it here!
