I don't even know if I would go here for free. I ignored red flags and shouldn't have. He treated the WRONG tooth, with NO excuse.nnI made an appointment for consultation about mild (but constant) pain in back teeth. During appointment confirmation, the ONLY thing the office asked was how much I'd be able to pay for treatment, even though I hadn't even met with the dr. to form a treatment plan. I should have cancelled then.nnDuring the consultation, none of my teeth hurt during the percussion test, and only one showed sensitivity to cold. I did not know this then, but I now know this is a sign of REVERSIBLE pulpitis, which would probably have resolved on its own. With his degree, though, the doctor should have known that. However, he decided the tooth needed a root canal. He also decided a tooth with a calcified root needed a root canal. At least the latter was accurate. Both teeth were in the front, away from the pain in the back (which is STILL present, months later).nnHowever, he chose to do a root canal on the tooth with REVERSIBLE pulpitis, not the one that was actually dead. He either does not know the difference between reversible and irreversible pulpitis, or intentionally destroyed a good tooth to ensure a second visit for the actual bad tooth. I don't know which is worse.nnThe office said they would contact me the following day. They did not. I called them two days later, and the office was extremely rude. When I told them I was in *extreme* pain - pain that far surpassed the discomfort I had when I went to their office, they were dismissive of my pain and just tried to schedule me for the second root canal.nnMy dentist didn't want me to rush into a second root canal and said she discussed this with Danielson. Still, when I called the office to obtain my records, the office staff kept saying I needed to come in for the second root canal. When I tried to explain I was reluctant to come for a second root canal when the first one had made the pain so much worse, the office staff became EXTREMELY rude and said I didn't know what I was talking about (I'd had a root canal about 3 years ago with ZERO problems like this).nnA few weeks later a second dentist suggested a root canal on the calcified tooth. I went to a different endodontist and the pain was NOTHING compared to what I experienced with Danielson (probably in part because they were actually fixing a problematic tooth).nnHowever, the pain that did not begin until Danielson worked on me, including pain radiating up my cheek, still remains. My dentist says he probably missed a nerve, and my dentist has said they have spoken with Danielson and says he will go back in and fix the tooth (Danielson has not spoken directly with me, even though I have called his office several times - each time I call the staff pretty much say, 'I don't know what you're talking about' and start speaking over me when I try to explain), however I don't know how much I would trust someone to fix something when they messed up so badly the first time. I am saving up to have it inspected and redone at a different office.
